JYJ's Junsu received an award from the 'Seoul Foreign Correspondents Club' (SFCC) for raising awareness about Korea.
The ceremony, held at Lotte Hotel in Seoul on the 7th, was attended by over 300 guests, including international ambassadors and government officials. The 'SFCC' award is given to those who raise awareness about Korea overseas, and the winners are decided through a voting process.
Junsu's recent world tour in Asia, the Americas, and Europe is reported to have been a large part of the decision. His first solo album, 'Tarantallegra', ranked 10th on Billboard's world chart, 1st on Japan's iTunes chart, and 1st on the Chinese music site Yinyuetai.
Other award winners include the film 'Pieta', author Kyung Sook Shin, and 'London Olympics' gymnastic gold medalist Hak Seon Yang.
Junsu commented, "As it hasn't been long since I completed my world tour, I'm happy to receive such a meaningful award. Thank you. I'll work harder in the future."
