JYJ's Jaejoong recently revealed how he broke up with his girlfriend of 4 years to pursue his dream of becoming a singer.

During an interview with Star Today for his upcoming movie 'Code Name Jackal', Jaejoong stated, "Most singers have to endure hardships during their trainee days. I had difficulties during my trainee days too. I broke up with the person I was dating because I was having such a hard time."

Jaejoong's character in the movie is a top star who broke up with his girlfriend during his days of being a nobody. Jaejoong revealed he went through a similar situation back when he was younger. He explained, "When I was younger I broke up with my girlfriend of 4 years in order to come to Seoul and pursue my dreams. After I made my debut with TVXQ I contacted her. However, she told me we shouldn't contact each other anymore."

He continued with, "I wanted to stay friends with her but I think she wasn't able to do that. As an important figure in my past, she will always be in my memories."

As for his bizarre role in the movie, Jaejoong stated, "I do not feel pressured [about acting it out]. I am very thankful because this piece opened a new�path into the big screen world. I now want to try different movies."
