Ever since YG Entertainment turned to favor SBS, they have had a strained relationship with KBS and MBC.
The relationship between YG and KBS turned sour back in 2010, when none of the YG Entertainment artists attended the 'KBS Gayo Festival'. Since then, YG Entertainment has always turned to SBS for their lavish comeback stages, straining their relationship not only with KBS but also MBC in the process. As a result, YG Entertainment artists rarely showed up on any variety shows other than the ones hosted by SBS.
However, the strained relationship may finally be healing. G-Dragon will be featured on KBS 2TV's 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook', and was also a recent featured guest on MBC's 'Infinity Challenge'. MBC also ran a documentary on Psy, and they're planning to air part two.
The relationship is being further forced to be repaired because of the popularity behind Psy's "Gangnam Style". KBS can no longer give YG Entertainment the cold shoulder, especially because Psy and G-Dragon went up against each other on last week's 'Music Bank' for first place. Even though YG Entertainment groups such as Big Bang and 2NE1 have been very popular, KBS has been ignoring their success. KBS did not even report Psy reaching #11 on Billboard two weeks ago. However, Psy's continued success all over the world seems to have forced KBS and MBC to admit his popularity and perhaps work together again.
