BoA's abilities as a performer have always been one of her renowned qualities. Despite her being a solo act, her stage presence can fill an entire arena, almost on par with the on-stage antics delivered by larger group acts. The singer, however, confessed that she still has yet to perfect her art as a performer.
BoA's appearance on the show will mark her first ever appearance as a solo guest on a talk show program since her debut 12 years ago. As such, fans and the like are anticipating to hear the star's personal stories, from her road to becoming Asia's star, her struggles as a trainee, as well as her future plans as a performer.
"I still experience stage frights," the singer confesses on KBS 2TV's 'Win Win', "It started way back when I made my Japanese debut, and it hasn't stopped ever since."
"I discovered how lacking I was in my skills through a debut showcase in Japan," BoA says, "I think that's when my fear of the stage began."
She reveals that one of the hurtful commentaries she heard during then was, "It seems it'll take this girl at least ten years in order for her to hold a concert here."
"Ever since I was a trainee I always had trouble with executing notes in the higher range and have been criticized for it," confesses BoA, "My live singing was never my forte, and I was trained more intensely in areas such as dancing more so than vocals"
She adds, "For me it was 20% talent, and 80% persevering hard work," revealing just how much effort it took for her to be recognized as the performer she is today.
The singer also discusses the truth behind the $3 million investment that SM Entertainment is said to have put into her debut on this same episode, so catch it when it airs on May 29th!
