KBS's weekend drama, 'Ojakgyo Brothers', has announced that they will be extending its series with eight more episodes. On December 29th, KBS reported, "'Ojakgyo Brothers' was originally planning to end with 50 episodes, but they've decided to broadcast another eight. Only six were initially discussed, but two more were added." The drama began airing on August 6th and earned widespread popularity for its family-centered plot. The drama revolves around four brothers and the Ojakgyo farm; in particular actor Joo Won and After School's UEE have been spotlighted for their performances. 'Ojakgyo Brothers' has been consistently recording 20% in viewer ratings, coming in at first in overall drama ratings. The extra episodes were discussed due to the popularity picking up near the second half of the drama's plot. The entire cast agreed to the changes, but Joo Won unfortunately had to depart from his MBC drama, 'The Moon That Embraces the Sun', in order to meet the demands of the schedule. Chief Go Young Tak explained, "The original 50 episodes was just a general guideline of the plot and we figured that we'd need eight more episodes at least to wrap up the stories between the main characters. It's popular with the viewers, and the actors themselves want the extension, so there's no reason to end it prematurely." Source + Photos: Sports Kyunghyang via Naver
