Welcome to another edition of 'allkpop TV guide and Ratings', an exclusive feature that spotlights three popular Korean dramas. It will discuss ratings for each week's episodes, as well as provide brief recaps (with spoilers, so watch out!) of shows that we know allkpop readers are enjoying. We've got the three regular shows being recapped for this week 'Deep-Rooted Tree' (starring Shin Se Kyung and Jang Hyuk) and 'Man of Honor' (starring Park Min Young and Chun Jung Myung), as well as tvN's romantic comedy, 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' (starring Jung Il Woo, Lee Chung Ah, and Lee Ki Woo). [Note: 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' is not included in the ratings competition as it is a cable show and therefore has different standards for ratings.] This week we saw the finale of 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' and SBS's 'Thousand Day Promise' (starring Su Ae and Kim Rae Won) as each show both scored high in their respective ratings field. While tvN's 'Flower Boy Ramyun Shop' broke their own record with a 3.54% rating, 'Thousand Day Promise' came out triumphant with a ratings of 19.8%. However, the competing dramas, were also able to take advantage and find an increase in the ratings, especially KBS's 'Brain' with a 13.1% mark and MBC's 'Light and Shadow' with a 10.6% mark. As 'A Thousand Days Promise' aired its finale this week, 'History of Salaryman' will take over it's time slot beginning on January 2nd, 2012. While it may seem like KBS's 'Brain' will be able to take the first spot from here on after this week's success, 'History of Salaryman' boasts A-list stars with Lee Bum Soo, Jung Kyu-Woon, Jung Rye-Woon, and Hong Soo Hyun, in addition to already attracting much attention with its eccentric posters and stills. ---- We also saw the finale of 'Deep-Rooted Tree', which came out strong as it broke its own record with a 25.4% rating, leaving a solid footing for the upcoming drama, 'Take Care of Us, Captain'. Meanwhile, KBS's 'Man of Honor' continued its steady ratings with a mark of 14.5%, while MBC's 'Me Too, Flower' sadly dropped in its rating to an even lower 5.8%. To replace SBS's 'Deep-Rooted Tree', 'Take Care of Us, Captain' will air with Gu Hye Sun and Ji Jin Hee will take the leading roles. With two strong actor and actress as the leads, let's see how far they will fly this drama ratings-wise with the story of Gu Hye Sun's rise as a pilot. [ Below are the spoilers ] !!!!! ?
