Pop star Ne-Yo recently shared some special time with Korean children dreaming to become musicians. On the evening of March 28th at the Dream Academy in Seoul, Ne-Yo exchanged pleasantries with Jay Park and greeted children dreaming to become musicians. Ne-Yo said, "I wanted to become a musician since when I was 9 years old. Music was the only thing I can do at that age. My family was in a difficult situation at the time so I lived 6 months in a van. After I decided to do music, I said I won't give it up just because of my living conditions." Ne-Yo also added, "I first got to write a song for Mario, my work for him stayed on the famous American music chart for 11 weeks. After that opportunity, I had a chance to work with Beyonce, Chris Brown and Rihanna." He then advised, "Honestly, it's difficult to work in the music business. You have to do your very best and give it your all. Nothing is impossible and your dreams can come true if you do your best." During an interview translated by Jay Park, Ne-Yo confessed, that he felt the happiest when he won the Grammy's and felt the worst when people didn't believe in him. When asked about his inspirations, Ne-Yo said "I admire Michael Jackson. He was outstanding at everything and nobody can stand up to his charisma. I'd love to be at least half of what Michael Jackson was." Then he sang a Michael Jackson song and received applause from the children. When asked about making mistakes during performances, he said "I sing on like nothing happened;" and the reason on why he wears a cap, "Somebody told me I look cute in a cap." At the end of the interview, when asked what music is, Ne-Yo replied, "Music is my life, my air and my everything." Ne-Yo will perform on March 30th at 8 pm at the Olympic Gymnasium and Jay Park will appear as a special guest. Source: BNT News via Nate
