After making his comeback with "
My Heart Is Beating" earlier this month, talented vocalist
K-Will is already ranking in at the top of music charts. Currently looking forward to a double title track promotion, his comeback promotion cycle is already moving forward at a fast pace.
Check out his interview below:
Q. "
At the mention of K-Will, almost everyone thinks of the ballad genre, but your comeback track is more upbeat."
K-Will: "I always thought that my voice was dewy in that it fits best with the monsoon or fall season, but I've always released my albums in the spring. With my comeback album, it's my first in a while so I was planning to go with a traditional ballad, but the minute I heard 'My Heart Is Beating,' I knew that this was it. Maybe because it's spring, but I felt more drawn to an upbeat song."
Q. "
You're even dancing now! Were you originally talented in dancing?"
K-Will: "Not at all. I was afraid of the pressures of dancing so I felt cautious towards brighter songs since upbeat songs call for a certain type of performance. Even after choosing 'My Heart Is Beating,' I couldn't help but worry over the performance for it. When I saw the choreography my agency prepared, I put my head down. I'm still shy about it, even though I do dance performances for my concerts. Fortunately, the public has taken a liking to my 'foot dance.'"
Q. "You were popular in the past for looking like Big Bang's Daesung."
K-Will: "I still hear it often. Big Bang recently made their comeback so we see each other on music programs. One person told me that they were watching TV and confused me and Daesung. She said, 'Why is that singer performing on the same program twice in a row?' I guess we really do look alike."
Q. "
You haven't won #1 on a music program yet?"
K-Will: "During '
Love 119,' I was pushed aside by
Baek Ji Young's '
Like Being Hit By A Bullet.' During '
Tear Drops,' I was pushed aside by
SNSD's '
Gee.' If I ever hear '
K-Will, #1,' I seriously might faint!"
Q. "
What do you think makes up a good song or a good singer?"
K-Will: "Something that moves your heart. Isn't this the reason why singers choose to sing?"
Q. "Were you ever moved by another singer?"
K-Will: "I get choked up with emotions whenever I listen to
Lee Sora. I like how she's in the spotlight again for '
I Am A Singer.' I've always cried listening to
Kim Yeon Woo."
Q. "Did you ever receive a casting request for 'I Am A Singer'? Will you accept if you are cast?"
K-Will: "No, I haven't. I have nothing to lose by going on the show. The prospect of going on the show and singing makes me nervous, but as I am a singer, I do want to appear on it. Before I saw the show, I thought that I'd feel uncomfortable with seeing the seniors I respect so much feeling nervous with competition against each other, but actually seeing it made me realize how amazing they were for acknowledging the talents of each other. Who would have thought that
Jung Yeob hyung would place last when he's that good? If I were to go on the show, I'd try my best to last as long as possible."
Q. "
You became a singer after seven years of training. How close are you to reaching your goals?"
K-Will: "
After my debut kept being delayed, I slowly began to give up my dream of becoming a star. I thought that I'd be satisfied if I was able to at least knock on the door to the Korean music industry. I'm blessed with the love I'm receiving now, but I feel like I'm currently standing in a position that's difficult to explain. Potential is still open to me, and I know that I have to work that much harder to prove to all of the trainees practicing in their basements like I did in the past that dreams do come true. I want to work for all of the trainees that are normal people without their talent for singing."
