MBC has stepped up to address a minor controversy swirling around the upcoming Lunar New Year's special, "Idol Star Athletics & Swimming Championships". After revealing that they added a swimming component to the event, many began criticizing the producers for its potential sexual content. The program is being accused of intending to show off female idols wearing bikinis. Kim Yugon PD retorted, "There's nothing in the program that could be seen as sexually suggestive." Another representative replied, "Did people view athletes Park Tae Hwan and Jung Darae's swimming as sexually suggestive? Just because someone is wearing a swimsuit does not mean anything sexual is being suggested. Such views are unfortunate." The 130 or so idols will be wearing swimsuits that adheres to regulations. Due to the difficulty of filming a variety of matches in one recording, producers are currently coming up with different match styles. The swimming match will be held indoors.
