As custom for all Korean male citizens, they must at one point or another enlist into the Korean military service. Many celebrities have had the privilege of postponing their enlistment due to their conflicting schedules. Following their lead, it has recently been confirmed that Rain will most likely postpone his enlistment into active duty so that he can attend graduate school. In a recent interview with Rain's company, his representatives stated, "It is correct that his expected enlistment date is September 28th. However, the Office of Manpower Administration has not sent him an official notice yet." They added, "We know that there is an age limit when using school attendance as a reason of postponement...As we look into the situation, if the postponement is approved, we will act accordingly to the law and postpone his enlistment as planned." The maximum age for postponement is 28. Rain will be 28 on June 25th. Rain also stated, "As a Korean man, I believe that it is only natural to be dutiful to my country and enlist into military service...I will go within the next year." Currently, Rain is undertaking a master's degree at Dangook University Graduate School of Arts under the Performing Arts Department.
