Idol group Kara recently made a contract with well known company Universal Music Japan and officially begin their launch for a debut in the Japanese market. Kara is the first Korean girl group to make a deal with Universal Music Japan, and is currently selling their repackage album in the country on the 28th before official debut. In order to shake hands and meet with 8,000 fans, Kara plans to be present at Japan's Grand Prince hotel on May 8th and will leave Korea on the 7th for the event. In addition to the event, on the 9th Kara will hold an official Japan fan club meeting with 3,000 fans at Yokohama's Mina Torimirai hotel. Kara held their first Japan showcase at Akasaka Bridge in February. Despite the fact that they have not debuted yet, tickets sold out in 5 minutes, allowing an extension of the concert. Entertainment related officials who watched the concert commented, "It seems like a new Japanese market will open through Kara," showing much anticipation and expectation towards this group. Meanwhile, Kara plans to have their official debut in July or August.
