SNSD's Taeyeon has been chosen as the main girl character for the upcoming musical, The Sun's Song. The Seoul city musical crew are putting on The Sun's Song starting in May and Taeyeon will be a part of it. This is her first time in a musical and she will be playing Kaoru. The musical is about a girl that has XP (xeroderma pigmentosum), a disorder that doesn't let you have exposure to sunlight in extreme cases. The girl falls in love with a boy that is in love with the sun while he surfs. It was originally a Japanese novel and has been turned into a musical. If this all sounds familar to you, there was a Japanese drama and movie called Taiyou no Uta or Midnight Sun about this story starring Sawajiri Erika and YUI respectively back in 2006 and was hugely popular among fans, especially the latter. The songs used for both movie and drama were also extremely popular with fans. Taeyeon will be another idol that is trying out the musical scene. She's definitely going to get some tips from Jessica, who starred as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde the Musical in Korea or fellow SM artists who have been in musicals before.
