While the girl idol groups are currently competing against one another through a dark, rebellious concept, the king and queen of Kpop will face-off around the same time period since seven years. While Lee Hyori is set to make her comeback with her 4th album near the end of March, Rain / Bi will release a special album in early April. Two of Korea's biggest superstars plan to return to the music scene within 1-2 weeks apart. During an interview on the 22nd, Rain said, "I heard that Lee Hyori's promotional activities will overlap mine. It's already been 7 years [since the last time]. I'm quite excited myself. We will both deliver amazing performances to make-up for the time lost." The last time Lee Hyori and Rain met on stage around the same time was in the early 2003, with the former promoting her first album and the latter performing How to Avoid the Sun. The two shared a stage together for a sexy tango performance at an award show (see video below). They met again in December 2008 when Rain appeared as the guest of SBS Family Outing and even performed the tango dance for old time's sake.�There were also rumors of a romance between the two. As expected, the reunion of two k-pop icons is building much anticipation from fans. Individually, they have built a reputation of delivering performance after performance with unprecedented dancing, impeccable singing and charismatic stage presence.�Regardless of who emerges victorious in this heated battle between the king and queen of k-pop, one thing is for sure: neither of them will disappoint.
